Impressive Battery
This is my second eBike and I really like the Asphalt. It came with a lot of nice tools to assemble the bike, also it was well packed. The finished are well done, it has a quality look and fell. I was comparing and going back and forth between Aventon and Mokwheel. Some of the reviews were helpful in their comparisons. But what sold me was the Battery on the Mokwheel ! This battery is encased in aluminum, that means the battery cells can stay cool as this battery heats up by use or by charging. Thermal battery management is important if you want good battery life. Also, the battery has multiple electrical contacts for stable and long-lasting electrical connection. But the most important battery feature to me was the BMS. A quality BMS (battery management system) with Texas Instrument Chip set was like WOW. A good BMS, means good battery balancing between the cells so that no one cell works too hard. One cell working too hard will destroy the team play of the Battery Pack. Also, the BMS is the safety device for not allowing over charge or excessive battery drain which will cause issues like FIRE. When I read about all the fires in NYC buildings because of people taking the BMS out of there scooter or hoverboards to "repair their battery" just to get a few more rides! It makes me glad to own an eBike with a good BMS. It gives me joy to see the safety and concern shown by Mokwheel in their product design. So pleased to see a company giving the attention needed to an important issue.
Wonderful product!!!
Mokwheel Asphalt and Asphalt ST - Great value and build quality for the price point
My wife and I rented ebikes at the beach this past summer, and enjoyed them enough that we started actively looking to buy a set when we returned home. Based on research and reputation, it really came down to the Aventon Level 2 and the Mokwheel Asphalt. While the fat tire bikes are cool, they just aren't practical enough for where we live and the type of riding we will do (very little beach or offroad). Having ridden both styles, I also personally like the weight savings and maneuverability of the 2.4" tires. We were able to test ride both the Aventon Level 2 and Aventure 2 locally. While both were nice and well built, the price point was a couple hundred dollars higher per bike, and did not include as many accessories. The nearest Mokwheel dealer was about 100 miles from us, so we could not test ride beforehand. We took a gamble with Mokwheel based on the reviews and the Black Friday special pricing, and I'm happy to report that it paid off. I bought the regular Asphalt and my wife the Asphalt ST. They shipped separately from different locations, but arrived within a day of each other, and total order to delivery time was about a week. The accessories arrived within a couple of days of the bikes. We ended up using the majority of accessories, including the front baskets, mirrors, comfort seats, locks, phone holders, trunk bags and helmets. The suspension seat post was a little tall for her with the comfort seat, so we ended up not using it on her bike. For reference, I'm 5'9" and with the suspension seat post and the comfort seat, it is perfect in the lowest position on the regular Asphalt. For her, at 5'3", it proved to be too tall with both on the ST, so she used the regular post and comfort seat. We skipped the water bottle holders, as I don't fully trust the stick on mounts, and they're on the smallish side. Note, the included trunk bag has a separate pocket that accomodates a much larger water bottle, and I was pleased to see that the sides unzip to reveal larger bags similar to panniers. Overall, the accessories are very well done! I did add clear rubber tubing to the bolts on the phone holders to keep them from vibrating when no phone is in place. I also added little rubber bits to the ball sockets of the mirrors to keep them from vibrating or moving when riding. I ended up mounting the lock to the front baskets, and it seems to work well there and stays in place until you need it. We opted for the bike carrier instead of the trailer, and it appears to be of good quality, although I haven't had a chance to test it yet. Overall build quality of the bike is almost on par with Aventon. The frame welds aren't quite as clean, but everything else seems to be on par, including the paint. The pre-assembly was generally good, and the derailleurs and brakes were perfect on both bikes, with no adjustments needed. Packing was certainly better than expected, and unless the box got crushed, it would be hard to damage the bike during transit. On to the ride. This is where the Mokwheels really shine. I find the Asphalt to be both more powerful and more comfortable than the Aventon's we rode. The hub drive is nearly silent and kicks in immediately, with the torque sensor perfectly adjusting based on the power. I only encounter ghost peddaling at high speeds, and the on/off transition is pretty much seamless. We only have roughly 40 miles on the bikes at this point, and are still on the original charge. Our average trip is about 15 miles, and generally stay in 1 of the 1st 3 PAS modes, and do not rely on the thumb throttle. I have no doubt that we will see an actual 60+ miles of range, based on remaining battery power. The comfort seats are ridiculously comfortable. Overall, I couldn't be happier with our Mokwheel purchase. I hope they prove to be as durable as they are fun!

Best cruiser ebike on the planet
I've been shopping for 2 years and finally found the perfect ebike, the Mokwheel Asphalt! I was mostly impressed with the range of the bike, I'm a 200 lb guy and was able to ride 50+ miles on a single charge. The bike is very aerodynamic, has perfect weld and paint, the controls and wires are installed by artists....really a nice machine. What a pleasure to ride. Thanks to Austin @Mokwheel, thanks for the help in supporting my Giant carbon Bike replacement!
