Specialized

Overview of Specialized E-Bikes

Specialized lives by the motto “made for riders, by riders.” Mike Sinyard created Specialized in 1974, and he continues to lead the business from his town of Morgan Hill in California. The Stumpjumper, Specialized’s first production mountain bike, changed the path of cycling history in 1981.

Today, Specialized is one of the world’s largest bike manufacturers, providing a wide selection of bicycles (both electric and non-electric), as well as helmets, shoes, apparel, and accessories catered to all cycling disciplines worldwide. In fact, Specialized is one of the go-to bike brands for events such as the Tour de France, Olympics, and other world championships. As such, Specialized has one of the highest reputations for performance, quality, and durability within the cycling world, making it a solid choice for e-biking beginners, enthusiasts, and experts alike.

Specialized developed its first electric bike in 2009, and the brand hasn’t looked back since. It now has a catalog of over 10 different e-bike models (and growing), specializing in everything from commuting and beach cruising to urban adventures and steep mountain trails.

Our Review of Specialized E-Bikes

With features such as a highly intelligent Mission Control app, anti-theft technologies, silent pedal assistance, integrated batteries, and multiple frame sizes per model, Specialized e-bikes are a go-to pick for pros.

Specialized uses high-quality parts from companies like Shimano to ensure its electric bikes are built to last. The brand also utilizes 3D printing technology to produce the most precise components for its products. That level of dedication allows the brand to rise above the competition.

Of course, with this quality of craftsmanship comes a higher price tag. An electric bike from Specialized will currently cost you anywhere from $3,250 to $15,000. It’s still a reasonably priced brand for those who are serious about starting their e-biking journey and don’t want to compromise with subpar alternatives.
