E-Bike Overview
A great value electric bike for light commuting and getting around town, the Nakto Camel is notable for its quality components and low MSRP. With a range of up to 22 miles per charge on the 250 Watt motor version, for a day’s riding between engagements, this is an ideal basic electric bike.
Coming with a rack, fenders, front basket, and lights as standard, it also has a comfortable double-sprung saddle. To add to the comfort, it has a 63mm travel sprung front fork that will help on multi-use paths.
You can choose from the 350W motor that delivers extra power or the lower-cost, 250W motor that will still get you about at sensible speeds on throttle alone. It can be ridden with pedal assist or on half-twist throttle only.
Reasons to Buy
If you want a low-priced, sensible electric bike with fenders, rack, and front basket, this e-bike could be your ideal machine. Made of rustproof steel, the Nakto Camel is solidly built, too.
Though definitely not for any overlanding riding, the 1.75” wide tires on 26” wheels will take on multi-use paths comfortably. With low rolling resistance, the bike will accelerate quickly to top speed.
The half-twist throttle with three power assist settings allows you to ride without pedaling at all if you choose. If you want pedal assist, simply pressing a button allows you to get some exercise as you ride.
Things to Consider
The first issue to consider on the Nakto Camel is the weight. With the battery, it weighs 75 lbs and could be difficult for frailer riders to lift if it falls on its side.
For pedal-assist riding, it only has one level to use. If you want to ride economically on a longer route, this could limit your maximum overall distance.
