Ghost Bikes

Overview of Ghost E-Bikes

Ghost was founded over 30 years ago by two friends, Uwe Kalliwoda and Klaus Möhwald, in their small garage. Today, the brand is one of the largest bicycle manufacturers in Germany. Since the very first release of its LECTOR mountain bike, Ghost has become a mainstay in the mountain bike space — for both electric and non-electric categories.

Although it’s been one of the earliest trailblazers in the mountain e-bike niche, its growing catalog also includes urban e-bikes and a unique electric hybrid bike built for field and forest trails, easy terrain, and bike touring.

Ghost has long been a pioneer in cycling, continuously supporting pro riders and managing its own factory team. The first-hand knowledge and expertise obtained through this devotion is channeled directly into bike creation and innovation to allow as many individuals as possible to enjoy cycling — no matter their size, age, ability, riding style, or level of fitness.

Our Review of Ghost E-Bikes

Ghost’s multitude of drive systems, features, colors, and sizes allows every rider to select the best e-bike for their own unique needs — whether they’re an e-biking hobbyist or a professional e-cyclist. On average, the brand’s e-bike range for men and women will set you back anywhere from $4,000 to upwards of $8,000.

When it comes to Ghost’s batteries, motors, chargers, and displays, the brand partners with both Bosch and Yamaha to provide riders with the best in quality, innovation, and experience. Ghost also utilizes unique SuperFit technology to provide more efficient pedaling, fatigue-free riding, and unparalleled bike control. Then there’s TractionLink, which can smooth out even the hardest of impacts for extra safety.

As you’d expect from electric mountain bike pioneers, Ghost offers a wide variety of models, including tour e-mtbs (for light mountain biking and city riding), trail e-mtbs (for off-road hobbyists), all-mountain e-mtbs (for more advanced motor support), or enduro e-mtbs (for demanding trails and steep descents).

While Ghost provides some high-quality e-city and e-trekking bikes, we find its expertise and offering in the mountain e-bike category extremely hard to beat.
