Dutch brand Tenways is a relatively new player in the electric bike market, having launched its first model in 2021 following a successful crowdfunding campaign. The company has since rolled out five e-bike models to match the needs of its “Tenwayers.”
The Netherlands brand has a core focus on sustainability, establishing a community of e-bike enthusiasts and experts. The Tenways tagline is ‘E-Bikes for Urban Riders,’ helping people avoid the pain of sitting in traffic jams, struggling with public transport, and paying for pricy car parking. Tenways Warranty
Tenways offers customers a two-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, including electronic parts and non-wear and tear components such as the controller, motor, and torque sensors. It also covers frame defects with a five-year warranty.
However, be aware that the warranty doesn’t cover consumables, regular wear and tear, and issues related to accidents, damage, water damage, theft, neglect, or misuse of the e-bike. Other bike parts have specific warranty periods, such as brake pads, tires, and spokes being covered for three months.
The company generally provides quality customer service, with online reviews revealing its support teams offer useful online support. It has several sites in the Netherlands, three US warehouses in California, Illinois, and North Carolina, manufacturer sites in Guangdong and Manila, and headquarters in Hong Kong.
Our Two Cents on Tenways
Tenways released five e-bike models over its first two years in business. That includes two e-bikes in the City Explorer Series, the AGO T, and the AGO X, and three e-bikes in the City Commuter Series, the CGO600, the CGO600 Pro, and the CGO800 S. The CGO 600 is Tenways’ entry-level e-bike, starting at $1,750, while its premium model AGO T starts at $2,955.
A key selling point of Tenways bikes is that they are lightweight; the CGO600 weighs just 33 lbs, and the AGO X is the heaviest at 59.5 lbs. They also offer high-quality components, including hydraulic disc brakes, Kenda tires, and a Shimano drivetrain on the AGO X and Gates carbon belts on other models. Those components are combined in modular designs that ensure simple customization, component replacement, and cost-effective maintenance while minimizing waste.
If you’re looking for an e-bike that delivers great range, Tenways may also be the right option for you. The CGO600 will go up to 43 miles on a single charge, and other models can reach up to 62 miles. Furthermore, the CGO600 can be fully recharged within three hours, while other Tenways models take up to six hours. Tenway’s bikes also offer the speed required to beat the crowds on daily commutes, with all bikes having a top speed of 25mph.
