Rad Power Bikes

Overview of Rad Power Bikes

Seattle-based Rad Power Bikes is a fast-growing international electric bike brand founded in 2007. Unlike many brands of e-bikes, Rad Power Bikes came direct into electric bikes with no previous heritage in analog bicycles. The firm started when its founder Mike Radenbaugh started converting regular bikes into e-bikes for his friends in California.

Mike went into business with Ty Collins, and together, they developed a range of high quality electric bikes for sale across the United States. Since then, they have expanded the brand’s reach to Canada and the Netherlands, helping 550,000 riders across the globe experience The RadGrin — a smile that happens after testing one of its e-bike for the first time.

The machines themselves are built for the lower end of the budget spectrum, with even their cargo bikes selling for as little as $2,500 — less than a quarter of the most expensive e-bikes on the market today.

Our Review of Rad Power Bikes

Rad Power Bikes are built by an American company for the American market. The bikes themselves are comfortable and available at a lower price to the consumer. This means you get incredible value for your money on solid and comfortable machines.

Currently, Rad offers four types of bikes — cargo/utility, city, folding, and off-road. No matter which e-bike you choose, they all come with a 14-day trial and a one-year warranty for peace of mind.

Unfortunately, the company has seen trouble with two court cases questioning its bikes’ safety and has made big cuts to its workforce. Not all businesses do well after growing rapidly — we hope this isn’t one that has flown too close to the sun, as we love their electric bikes.
