E-Bike Overview
The Juiced CityScrambler departs from most e-bike designs by looking more like a motorcycle due to its big frame and motorcycle-style double seat. With the optional off-road tires, this makes for a beefy e-bike that dares to be different.
This beefiness runs deeper than the appearance thanks to the 750W Bafang rear-hub motor that hurls out up to 80 Newton meters of torque and a maximum speed of 28 mph. To power the motor, a 52V, 15 Ah (780 Wh) battery gives it a maximum range of 45 miles.
The CityScrambler comes with 20″ x 4.25″ puncture-resistant road tires. This is a bit wider than typical city tires, making the e-bike capable of taking on soft sand and gravel should you venture off the paved stuff.
All in all, this is a very good electric price for its price point. It stands out from the crowd with its design and has a lot of power available either by throttle or pedal assist.
Reasons to Buy
If you want to stand out from the crowd riding a funky e-bike, take a look at the Juiced Scrambler. Fun to look at and even more fun to ride, it’s packed with features that make it comfortable on all terrains, such as the rear suspension and the advanced cadence sensors. These sensors have over 100 signals per crank revolution, eliminating lag and making your ride smoother.
Not only is the double seat comfy, but it lets you bring along a second passenger — as long as you don’t weigh more than 275 lbs combined. Thanks to its relatively low step-over height, it could suit older riders, too.
Things to Consider
At 78 lbs, this isn’t a lightweight e-bike. You may have trouble picking it up if it falls on its side. Another issue is that the throttle will take it up to 28 mph, eight miles per hour above the max speed permitted by the three-class e-bike system. Be aware of your state’s e-bike laws, and don’t contravene them in front of law enforcement.
It also takes an astounding 7.5 hours to fully charge, which is longer than your average e-bike. That said, your average e-bike doesn’t have a 52V battery, so it’s the tradeoff for having such a large power reserve.
